There have been many debates on whether you should be wearing a bra or not when you are at home. The simple answer is to do what makes your feel good. As a lot of things have been changing, wearing underwear hopefully has stayed the same. There have been lots of speculations on whether couples will be getting it on more as they are locked down together. With sales figures on the rise of sexy lingerie we are guessing things have been steaming up in some homes.
Lingerie e-tailer figures has seen a 66 per cent increase in sales since the start of the pandemic. In the UK there was a huge increase in looking up erotic lingerie with brands like Anne Summers and Agent Provocateur seeing a big demand at 49% and 44% year-on-year respectively. Some of the top searches were teddies which are a one-piece lingerie made from lace, with online sales up 52% year-on-year in April. This is no surprise, a sexy set of lingerie does not only look good, but really boosts your mood to make you feel motivated. No wonder as feeling confident, sexy and empowered is what everyone wants to be experiencing, so if that’s buying a new set for yourself why n0t?
A lot of women think that buying sexy lingerie is just for special occasions, but as most of us wear this fashion item everyday, why are we not treating it as every other piece of clothing that we own and invest in good quality sets that make us feel good. Not only do you or your partner see it which is completely acceptable but with the most controversial fashion trend that has been going on for years, you could be showing your lingerie to others. Lingerie has always been for the bedroom, the fashion trend that exposes it, has never been so popular with S/S 20 with brands like Loewe, Alexander Wang and Givenchy showing their collection of daywear lingerie on the catwalks.
This fashion trend will not be for all women, but for those who do have that adventures side, I would say go for it. There are many ways you can pull this look off. Lace or mesh body suits are great to start off with, add a pair of jeans and trainers. For a night look you can go for velvet bralettes, they are a great option that look elegant with a pencil skirt or tailored trousers and to finish off the look add a nice pair of heels. There are so many ways you can wear this fashion trend that makes you look put together and not too exposed. This also does not have to brake your bank, there are plenty of high- street brands that have great lingerie for all shapes and sizes with a great price. This fashion trend is for everyone, no matter who you are. Lingerie is made for us all to enjoy. So lets make Lockdown sexy!
